5 weken / 5 weeks Photoshoot!

Ze zijn alweer een week ouder! Vijf weken vandaag alweer. Allemaal weer prima gegroeid deze week, zo'n 1350 gram gemiddeld. Ze worden steeds ondeugender en spelen heerlijk met z'n allen in de ren. 
Gisteren waren we voor het eerst met ze op stap. De pups waren samen met de pups van Maxime en Maxime zefl uitgenodigd voor een photoshoot voor de Dwarsligger. Dus de puppen hebben een hele rit gemaakt naar Amsterdam en daar met de puppen van Maxime gespeelt en af en toe dus op de foto geweest. Het was een hele happening voor ze, maar ze hielden zich prima en vonden alle aandacht zichtbaar leuk. 

Another week has gone by! Five weeks old today. They have all gained weight and are now around 1350 grams. They are turning into naughty little dogs, who love to play together in the puppypen. 
Yesterday they had their first day out. The pups were, together with the pups from Maxime and Maxime herself, invited for a photoshoot for the Dwarsligger. 
We went all the way to Amsterdam and they played with Maxime's pups and they took pictures of them every now and then. It was quite a happening for them, but they loved all the attention they were given.

Na afloop zijn we ook nog even langs mijn ouders geweest in Nieuwegein. En daar hebben de pups hun "neefje" Forrest weer ontmoet. Forrie is helemaal gek op kleine pups, ze worden allemaal door hem 'gekust'. 
Afterwards we went to visit my parents in Nieuwegein. The pups have met their 'cousin' Forrest again. Forrie absolutely adores the pups, he kisses them all. 

Eerste stand poging / First stack try

Vandaag hebben we voor het eerste standfoto's van de pups gemaakt. Een behoorlijk lastige klus wanneer ze nog maar vier en halve week oud zijn en nog niet al te stevig op hun pootjes staan.

We tried to take the pups stack pictures for the first time. It's quite difficult given their very young age (4.5 weeks) and the fact that they are not too confident on their feet outside their own pen.

Visite Visite :-)

Als we puppen hebben is het helemaal een drukke boel bij ons in huis. Niet alleen families die naar hun toekomstige pup komen kijken komen langs, maar ook mensen die met ons kennis komen maken omdat ze graag op de wachtlijst geplaatst willen worden voor een volgend nest.  Kortom altijd een gezellige drukte hier! 
Van de week kwamen Kenny en Rachel langs, de ouders van Kenny hebben twee hondjes van de Tessa's Telgen kennel, een teefje en een reutje. Het teefje is zelfs de tante van onze Pink (een zus van haar moeder). Erg leuk om zo weer verhalen uit te kunnen wisselen. 
Bedankt voor de prachtige bos rozen! En de heerlijke snoepjes voor de honden. Wat een verwennerij zeg! 

Whenever we have pups, it's always a busy time here. Not only do we receive the families that are here to visit their future puppy, we also get to meet new people who would like to be on our waiting list. In short it's a busy but fun time! 
This week Kenny and Rachel came to visit us. Kenny's parents own two dogs from the "Tessa's Telgen" kennel, a boy and a girl. The girl is even a aunt to our Pink (she is her mothers sister). It's so much fun to meet new people. 
Thank you for the beautiful bouquet of roses! And the dogs loved their treat! We are all spoiled rotten :-)

We kregen ook nog bezoek uit Canada! Met Ellen en haar familie hebben we vorig jaar al kennis gemaakt en we hadden goede hoop dat er dit jaar een mooi teefje voor hun bij zat maar helaas met Dott als enige meid (wij houden haar zelf aan en ze gaat bij haar co-owers Lia en Edwin wonen) was dit zeer spijtig genoeg niet het geval. Toch kwam de hele familie gisteren gezellig op bezoek en hebben we een hele gezellige middag en avond gehad! 
Zowel mens als dier is weer verwend met heerlijke koekjes! Wat een verwennerij toch allemaal! Heel erg bedankt Ellen, het was super gezellig om jou en je ouders en dochter weer te zien. 

We also had visitors all the way from Canada. We met Ellen and her family last year and we had high hopes that they could have beautiful girl out of Bella's litter. But unfortunately Dott was the only girl (we are keeping her ourselves and she will live with her co-owners Lia and Edwin) and there was not girl for them. Despite that, the whole family came to visit yesterday and we had lovely afternoon and evening! 
Both two and fourlegged creatures have been spoiled with yummy cookies :-). Thank you very much Ellen, it was great seeing you and your parents and daughter again. 

4 weken / 4 weeks

De pups zijn alweer 4 weken oud vandaag! Wat vliegt de tijd toch!
Vanochtend allemaal weer op de weegschaal geweest en het gemiddelde gewicht is nu al 1140 gram!! Ze zijn dus weer flink gegroeid.
Vandaag zullen ze ook weer ontwormd worden.
En er was ook nog puppybezoek! Vandaag kwam de familie Sint langs om naar hun kleine Dottie te komen kijken. Dott lag heerlijk op schoot en in haar mandje tussen de familie in. Het leek wel of ze al lekker gewend was aan het idee van haar nieuwe familie. Bedankt voor de gezellige middag en namens de hondjes bedankt voor de lekkere snoepjes!

We have weighed them all again this morning and the average weight is now 1140 grams. They have gained quite a of weight again.
We will "de-worm" them again today.
And we also had puppyvisitors today. The Sint family came to visit their little Dottie. Dott felt very comfy in their laps and in the little doggy bed that was placed on the sofa between the family members. It almost seemed like she was already getting used to her new family. Thank you for the lovely afternoon and on behalf of the doggies thanks for the treats!

Meer visite! / More visitors!

Vandaag kwam de familie Zuurveld helemaal uit Zeeland hier naar toe om de pups te bewonderen. Ze hadden heerlijke Zeeuwse Bolussen meegebracht en ook nog lekkers speciaal voor mama Bella. Bedankt voor jullie bezoek we vonden het erg gezellig.

The Zuurveld family came to visit us and the pups today all the way from the province of Zeeland. They brought a speciality from their province called "Bolussen", they were really good. And they also brought some goodies for mommy Bella. Thank you for your visit we had a good time.

3 weken oud / 3 weeks old

Vandaag zijn de pups precies 3 weken oud. Ze zijn allemaal weer op de weegschaal geweest en het gemiddelde gewicht is nu 940 gram. Ze groeien dus prima, en worden met de dag actiever.De pups hebben ook weer visite gekregen vandaag. De familie Dera kwam een bezoekje brengen, over een tijdje gaat een van de mannetjes bij hun wonen. Bedankt voor de mooie bloemen en kluifjes voor de honden! 

The pups are 3 weeks old today. We have weighed them this morning and their average weight is 2.07 lbs. They are getting more active every day now. 
We also had some new visitors for the pups. The Dera family came to visit us, in a few weeks one of the boys will go home with them. Thank you for the lovely flowers and treats for the dogs!

Bezoek / Visitors

Vandaag was er voor het eerst officieel bezoek voor de pups. Wendy en Eric kwamen kijken naar de pups, een van de mannetjes gaat over een aantal weken bij hun wonen. Dank jullie wel voor de mooie bloemen en puppy-geboorte chocolaatjes :-) (zie hiernaast).

The pups had their first official visit tonight. Wendy and Eric came to see the pups, one of the males will be their pup in a couple of weeks. Thank you for the beautiful flowers and the special puppy chocolates :-) (see on the left).  

2 weken oud / 2 weeks old

Tijd om te ontwormen! Het gemiddelde gewicht is nu 720 gram.   
Time to 'de-worm'! Their average weight is now 1.58 lbs.

1 week !

Vandaag zijn de puppen alweer 1 week oud! De tijd gaat zo snel! Hadden ze vorige week een gemiddeld geboorte gewicht van 210 gram, een week later is het gemiddelde gewicht 460 gram!! Meer dan een verdubbeling dus. Ze groeien zo snel dat je het bijna ziet als je er bij staat. 
Bijna overbodig om te zeggen dat het dus met moeder en kinderen erg goed gaat. 
We willen bij deze ook iedereen bedanken voor de lieve kaartjes, mailtjes, telefoontjes en berichtjes in ons gastenboek. En hierbij natuurlijk ook nog wat foto'tjes van het stel in de puppykist. 

The pups are 1 week old today! Time flies! They had an average weight of 210 grams (7.1 oz) when they were born, their average weight one week later is 460 gram (1.01 lbs)!! They more than doubled their weight! They are growing so fast you can practically see it when you are watching them. Needless to say mother and kids are doing great.

Ander puppy nieuws - Other puppy news

it is Lilly van de Jack Beauty kennel in Zuid Frankrijk. Ze is inmiddels zes weken zwanger. De vader van de pups, is onze Max. In de eerste week van maart worden de pups verwacht. Is ze niet onzettend schattig!
This is Lilly, she belongs to the Jack Beauty kennel in the South of France. She is six weeks pregnant. The father of the future pups is our Max. She is due in the first week of March. Isn't she adorable! En hier nog een foto'tje van Maxime en haar pups, Carpie kwam ook nog even een kijkje nemen bij de pups. Wat lief!

En dan onze "grote pups" Monti (Bashful Monti of the Hunters Pride) van 2,5 jaar oud en zijn half zus Pip (Canadian Rose of the Hunters Pride) van 7 maanden oud.

PUPPIES!!

Daar zijn ze dan eindelijk de 4 mannen en dame van Bella! Wat heeft ze ons in spanning gehouden want we hadden de pups eigenlijk al woensdag of donderdag verwacht. Maar de puppen belsoten uiteindelijk pas zaterdag in de vroege morgen naar buiten te komen. Om 3 uur in de ochtend zagen we dat de bevalling op gang kwam, en om 4 uur was de eerste pup er. Nadat er vier heren geboren waren, werd om half 8 de laatste pup en enige dame geboren.
Met Bella en haar kinderen gaat het goed. Ze waren vanochtend allemaal goed aangekomen en Bella is een heel goed moedertje die ze goed verzorgd. 
Mijn ouders en zus waren hier om de pupjes van Bella te bewonderen. Ze hadden ook nog een kraampakket meegebracht, wat bestond uit keukenrol (onze grootste vriend altijd in deze tijden :-) en snoepjes voor honden. Erg lief van ze. 

Finally there they are, the 4 sons and daughter of Bella! She really kept us in suspense, because we were expecting the puppies either Wednesday or Thursday. But the puppies decided the early morning of Saturday was the right time to come out. Around 3 AM we noticed she was going into labor, at 4 AM the first pup was born. After the birth of 4 boys the last pup and only girl was born around 7:30 AM. 
Bella and her kids are doing very well. They all gained some weighed his morning and Bella is wonderful mommy who takes really good care of them.
My parents and sister were here to see Bella's puppies. They brought a puppy shower gift for us and the dogs. It contained paper towels (our biggest friend when we have pups) and treats for the dogs. It was very sweet of them.

De meeste pups worden geboren tussen de 58e en 63e dag. Geboortes zijn altijd weer spannend en nooit hetzelfde. Het ene nest is er binnen een paar uur; het andere kan dagen (en/of nachten) van onrust en krabben (nest maken) betekenen.

Most puppies are born between the 58th and 63rd day. Every birth is different, special and exciting. One litter might be here in just a couple of hours; others can take days (and/or nights) of restless scratching (making a nest).

Dit is de laatste update van de zwangerschap van Bella. Het volgende bericht is hopelijk dat alle pups in goede gezondheid ter wereld zijn gekomen. Het is vandaag precies 63 dagen na de eerste dekking, maar omdat een teefje meestal meerdere malen wordt gedekt kan het zijn dat de bevruchting tijdens een latere dekking heeft plaats gevonden. Bella is drie keer gedekt, morgen en overmorgen kan mogelijk ook de 63ste dag zijn. De buik van Bella is inmiddels 62 cm in omvang. Alles is inmiddels in huis, we zijn er helemaal klaar voor. En zoals je op de foto kan zien, heeft Bella het ook wel gehad met die dikke buik! 

This will the last update about Bella's pregnancy. Hopefully our next message will be that Bella has had her litter of healthy looking pups. Today is the 63rd day after the first mating, however most bitches are mated several time, so it could be she conceived at a later mating. Bella was mated 3 times, tomorrow or the day after might also be the 63rd day. Bella's belly is now 24.4 inch. We are all set to greet the puppies! And as you can see in the pictures, she too is ready to get rid of that big belly! 

Nog ander leuk nieuws! Crumble is weer naar de show geweest! Ditmaal in Mouscron Belgie, ze werd 3de met een Veel Belovend. We zijn weer erg trots op haar en haar vrouwtje Maria. Gefeliciteerd meiden!! 

And good news! Crumble went to another dogshow! This time in Mouscron Belgium. She was placed 3rd Very Promissing. We are very proud of her and her mommy Maria! Congratulations girls!
