Update!

Zooo even tijd voor het plaatsen voor een update! 
Afgelopen zondag zijn de pups van Daisy -veel eerder dan verwacht- geboren. We hadden verwacht dat ze 63 dagen vanaf de tweede dekking zou gaan bevallen en dat had morgen geweest! Maar de puppen hadden duidelijk geen trek om nog zo lang te wachten. 

Rond een uur of half 10 ging mijn telefoon en hoorde ik Jolanda (waar Daisy woont) zeggen: "is vandaag ook een goede dag voor pups?" :-).  Ja hoor een prima dag! Helaas kon ik alleen niet meteen zelf die kant op want ik had nog andere verplichtingen in Duitsland. Ik had Wizard ingeschreven voor een terrierclubshow. Als hij daar zijn laatste punt zou halen was hij ook "KFT-kampioen". 

Om half 2 hoorde we op de show dat de eerste was geboren! De tweede liet wel even op zich wachten maar toen we klaar waren met de show was nummer 2 eindelijk ook geboren! En de show ging super, want Wizzie won en is daarmee nu dus Kampioen! 

Eerst langs huis gereden en vervolgens door naar Asperen waar om 8 uur die avond het laatste mannetje werd geboren. En daar lag ons prinsesje Daisy, voldaan met haar drie mooie mannetjes :-). Zoooo lief. Ze is een heerlijk lief moedertje voor haar pups. 

Inmiddels is het al dag drie en de pups groeien prima. Ze zijn goed aangekomen dus alles gaat goed. 

Met onze zwangere Minou gaat het ook goed. Het is vandaag precies 5 weken geleden dat ze gedekt is en gisteren viel het me ineens op hoe haar buik al gegroeid was! Toen ik haar op de weegschaal zette zag ik het bewijs LOL. Het gaat heel goed met haar. Ze was vorige week wat misselijk en had wat minder zin in eten maar nu is haar misselijkheid weer over en het eten gaat ook weer goed. Nog 4 weken geduld dan weten we wat zij bij zich draagt!

Finally time for an update!!
Last Sunday -much sooner than we expected- Daisy whelped her puppies. 
About half past 9 I heard my phone and it was Jolanda (where Daisy lives) and she asked me if I thought today would be a good day for pups :-) Well of course an excellent day! Unfortunately I could not be there myself though because I had to attend a dogshow in Germany together with Wizard. He only needed one more point to become a KFT Champion. 

At half past 1 my phone rang and Jolanda told me the first pup was born. It took a little while for the second to come out, but right as we were finishing up the show she text me to say the second one was born also. The show was a success by the way, cause Wizzie was BOB and now a KFT champion!!

We drove back home and than I continued my trip to Asperen to visit Daisy and her pups. The last one was born when I was there around 8 pm. And there was our little princess Daisy tired but content with her 3 little men. Sooooo sweet, she is such a good mommy! 

Our pregnant Minou is doing very good too. It's been exactly 5 weeks after her first mating today, and yesterday I noticed how much her belly has grown. After I put her on the scale I knew I was right LOL. She is doing very well, she had some morning sickness last week and lost a bit of her appetite but that is all over now. Just 4 more weeks and then we will know what she has in her belly!!

Week 8 Daisy

WEEK 8
Volgens de meeste deskundigen zijn de pups vanaf de 58e dag levensvatbaar. De bewegingen van de pups kan men nu voelen, en ook ziet men de buik "bobbelen" als de a.s. moeder op haar zij op de grond ligt. Dat is nu het lievelingplekje van vele zwangere teefjes. De werpkist staat klaar en ook de puppykist in de puppykamer staat klaar, en af en toe neemt ze poolshoogte...

According to experts the puppies are viable from the 58th day of the pregnancy. You can now feel and even see the movements the pups make in the mothers belly. The whelpbox is in the livingroom and so is the puppybox in the puppy nursery, and every now and than she hops on in to check it out....

WEEK 7
Op rontgenfoto's is nu de pup door zijn aanwezige skelet duidelijk zichtbaar. Het hartje is met een stethoscoop duidelijk hoorbaar, en met de a.s. moeder wordt af en toe een rustig wandelingetje gemaakt, want beweging heeft ze nodig, al zou ze het liefst de hele dag lekker op de bank liggen...

WEEK 7
On a X-ray we can now see a complete skeleton. We can listen to the heartbeat of the pups with a stethoscope. We take the future mom outside for a small walk every now and than, she needs her exercise, although she would not mind laying on the couch the entire day....

Het gaat erg goed met Daisy. Ze is niet van het schema volgen want ze is nog altijd lekker actief :-). Geen vlieg is veilig in huis want ze gaat ze nog altijd achterna. Ze speelt nog lekker met haar speeltjes maar kijkt alleen af en toe even 'verschrikt' achterom naar haar buik als ze kennelijk een pupje voelt trappen :-). Zoals je op de foto kunt zien is ze behoorlijk aan het groeien nu. Nog even en we kunnen de pupjes in het echt gaan bewonderen!  

Daisy is doing very well, she is still very active. No fly is safe in the house, she really hunts them down. She also still playful with her toys, the only think we notice is that every now and than she turns around looking a her belly in surprise of what had just happened when she feels the pups kick in her belly :-). As you can see in the picture she is growing fast now! Just a little while now before we can finally meet her puppies!

Week 6 Daisy

WEEK 6
Het embryo heet nu officieel een foetus. Het skelet begint zich te ontwikkelen en de a.s. moeder is nu meestal duidelijk zwanger. Bij grote nesten is zij eerder wat dikker, en bij kleine nesten wat later, maar rond de 40e dag gaan de pups "draaien" en wordt de dracht duidelijk zichtbaar. De a.s. moeders hebben nu een zeer goede eetlust en we moeten uitkijken dat we niet gaan OVERvoeren!

We can now officially call the embryo a fetus. It's skeleton begins to develop, and we can now definitely see on the outside that the mom is pregnant. Big litters will cause the mom to show her pregnancy sooner, but around day 40 the pups are "turning" and the pregnancy is very noticeable. The future moms will have a very good appetite and we need to watch out to not OVERfeed them!

WEEK 5
De oren, oogleden en tanden zijn ontwikkeld en het wordt duidelijk of er een teefje of een reutje geboren gaat worden. De tepels van de a.s. moeder vullen zich en zijn nu duidelijk groter, haar taille gaat verdwijnen en zij krijgt meer te eten. De meesten eten nu weer goed, en krijgen tijdens hun zwangerschapsdieet zo'n 50% meer dan normaal.

WEEK 5
The ears, eyelids and teeth are now developed and it's been decided if it's going to be a boy or a girl. The nipples of the future mom are fulling up and are visibly larger, her waistline is disappearing and and we increase her amount of daily food. Most dogs tend to eat normal again now, during their pregnancy they receive about 50% more food then normal.

Daisy is weer terug van vakantie en het is nu toch wel duidelijk te zien dat ze wat ronder begint te worden. Ook zijn haar tepels gegroeid. Dus het ziet er naar uit dat we over 4 weekjes echt pupjes van haar mogen verwachten. 

Daisy just came back from her holiday. You can definately see she that her shape is changing and her nipples are larger too. So I think it's safe to say we will be expecting a couple of pups from her in about 4 weeks!

WEEK 4
Het embryo krijgt een hoofd en de organen ontwikkelen zich. Het hartje begint te kloppen en het gewicht is nu zo'n 50 gram per pup. De moeder heeft vanaf nu vaak een wat slijmerige uitvloeiing uit de vulva, maar houdt zichzelf prima schoon. Omstreeks deze tijd kan men een echo laten maken dat hebben we tot op heden slechts keer laten doen. Er is nu toch niets meer te veranderen, en over enkele dagen/weken krijgen we vanzelf meer zekerheid!

WEEK 4

The embryo now has a head and the organs are starting to develop. The beating of the heart will start and each pup now weighs about 50 grams. The mother now may have a slimy discharge out of her vulva, but she will keep herself clean. It's now also possible to do an ultrasound, however up to now we have never chosen to do one. Whatever the result will be, there is nothing you can change about it at this point, besides in just a few more days/weeks we will know it for certain anyway!

Week 3 Daisy

WEEK 3
In de 3e week nestelen zich de embryo's in de baarmoederwand. Soms kan men nu reeds iets verandering in het gedrag van de a.s. moeder bespeuren, en vooral bij een 1e zwangerschap worden de tepels mooi roze. Sommige teefjes worden nu wat rustiger en slapen veel. Ook laten velen hun eten onaangeroerd, wij doen ons best om het nog wat smakelijker te maken met wat vers vlees of wat puppy-brokjes. Ochtendmisselijkheid komt ook voor in deze periode.

WEEK 3
The embryo's are now moving more towards the side of the uterus. Sometimes the first changes in behavior are now noticeable. Some dogs are taking it more easy now and they sleep a lot. Many of them refuse to eat. We try our very best to make the food taste even better by adding more freshly cooked meat or some puppy kibble. Morning sickness might also occur during this period in the pregnancy.

Ons prinsesje is vandaag naar de kapper geweest, en heeft een mooie zomercoupe :-) Er is nog niets te zien, dus ze houdt ons voorlopig nog in spanning!
Our little princess went to the groomer today, she has her summer hair-do now :-) Nothing to be seen yet, she is keeping us in antcipation!

Week 2 Daisy

WEEK 1-2
Tussen ongeveer de 10e en 12e dag van de loopsheid vindt de dekking plaats. Soms is een progesteron-test handig, als je het niet precies weet. De eerste 2 weken merken we weinig, de hond gedraagt zich als altijd en krijgt haar normale beweging en voer. Wel van zeer goede kwaliteit natuurlijk! Vanaf de dag van dekking wordt "mams" zwanger behandeld; totdat het tegendeel bewezen is!

WEEK 1-2

Generally speaking between the 10th and 12th day of the heat, the mating will take place. Sometimes it's convenient to do a progesterone test, to determine the right time to do the mating. You don't notice very much in the first two weeks, the dog is acting like she always have and she gets her normal daily exercise and food. Of course high quality food! Starting from the day of the mating "mommy" will be treated as pregnant.

Week 1 Daisy

Is ze wel of is ze niet zwanger....
Ja we kunnen er nu nog niet veel over zeggen. De eerste dekking is inmiddels alweer een week geleden. Maar of ze zwanger is... de tijd zal het leren!

Well there is not much we can say about that at this point. The mating took place a week ago from today. But is she pregnant... only time will tell!

Dorus & GO Holland GO !

Vandaag zijn mijn moeder en ik op bezoek geweest bij Dorus (Country Boy of the Hunters Pride). Het was erg leuk om hem weer terug te zien, hij wordt (net als zijn broertjes en zusjes uit het C-nest uiteraard) alweer 1 jaar!! Wat gaat de tijd toch snel!
Bedankt voor de gezellige middag Ans en Wim! En bedankt voor de mooie sokken Ans, echt een kunstwerkje!

My mom and I went to visit Dorus (Country Boy of the Hunters Pride) today. It was so much fun to see him again. He will be (just like his brothers and sisters from the C-litters of course) 1 year next month!! Time flies!

Vandaag ben ik op bezoek geweest bij Oliver (Dax Daffodil of the Hunters Pride) die samen met zijn baasjes en teckel vriendinnetje Sophie in het mooie Zuid-Limburg woont.

Ik kreeg ook nog een paar mooie foto's toegestuurd van Joep (Dash Daffodil of the Hunters Pride). Ik ben erg trots op Joep en zijn jongste baasje Rayenne, samen met haar zit hij op een cursus en ze zijn met vlag en wimpel geslaagd voor hun eerste examen! Wat een super team! Van harte gefeliciteerd!!

I also received some beautiful pictures of Joep (Dash Daffodil of the Hunters Pride). I am soooo proud of Joep and his youngest owner Rayenne. They are in a special kid/dog training program and last week they had their exam. They passed with flying colors!!! I am so proud of this magnificent team!! Excellent job Rayenne and Joep!

Driekes -Dizzy Dogwood of the Hunters Pride- came to visit us. He turned into a very handsome little man!

Ook ontvingen we deze prachtige foto van de dochter van onze Max -Moon Pride van Gforce Nellestein-. Ze was precies vier maanden oud op deze foto. Dank je wel Agnes en Yasmien!

En Max kwam ook nog langs, als een ontploft schaap hahahaha. Na even trimmen was zijn vachtje gelukkig weer een beetje aan kant en hebben we Max weer "gevonden" onder al dat haar hahaha.
Max came to visit us too, he looked like a exploded sheep hehehehe. After some trimming we found Max again underneath all that hair LOL.

Ook kregen we nog bezoek uit Frankrijk en Tjechie. Bea en Chantal (Mayo Land kennel) en Kate en Stania (Z Jerene kennel) kwamen langs met wat honden. Jolanda kwam ook nog langs. Het was een gezellig avond.
We also had visitors from France and the Czech Republic. Bea and Chantal (Mayo land Kennel) and Kate and Stania (Z Jerene kennel) came to visit us with some of their dogs. Jolanda also paid us a visit. We had a fun night.

Bezoekje aan Driekes / Visiting Driekes

Vandaag heb ik een bezoekje gebracht aan Driekes (Dizzy Dogwood of the Hunters Pride) en zijn vrouwtje Wendy. Driekes is de zoon van onze Bella en Wizard uit het D-nestje van afgelopen februari. We hebben een super gezellig dagje gehad, zo gezellig dat ik helemaal de tijd vergeten was :-) :-). Kletsen zijn we goed in :-). Driekes is inmiddels 3,5 maand oud en wordt al een heel kereltje. Wendy en Eric hebben hem al behoorlijk wat geleerd. Het was erg leuk om hem en zijn baasjes weer te zien. Bedankt voor de super gezellige middag!

Today I visited Driekes (Dizzy Dogwood of the Hunters Pride) and his "mommy" Wendy. Driekes is Bella and Wizards son from our D-litter from last February.We had a lovely day, so lovely I totally lost track of time :-) :-). We sure now how to chat :-). Driekes is now a 3,5 months old little guy. Wendy and Eric allready taught him a lot of things. It was fun seeing him and his owners again. Thank you so much for this fun day!

Naar de bruiloft - To the wedding

Afgelopen week hebben we een trip gemaakt door Duitsland naar Tsjechie, Dax en Pink waren ook me. Eerst hebben we onze vrienden Tina en Christof bezocht in Duitsland w hebben een super gezellige dag gehad. Daarna door naar Dresden en daarna door naar Tsjechie, we waren onderweg naar het huwelijk van Kate en Vaclav, de eigenaren van de Z Jerene kennel in de buurt van Praag. Ze zijn getrouwd in de bergen van noord Tsjechie, het was prachtig daar. Hier zijn wat foto's van onze trip en het huwelijk. 

Last week we went on holiday to Germany and the Czech Republic, Dax and Pink came with us. First we went to visit our friends Tina and Christof in Germany and had a wonderful time. Next stop was Dresden en after that off to the Czech Republic, we were on our way to Kate and Vaclav's wedding, they are the owners of the Z Jerene kennel near Prague. They got married in the mountains of CZ. It was beautiful there. Here are some pictures of our trip and the wedding.
