5 weken / 5 weeks

Vandaag zijn de puppen precies 5 weken oud. Vanochtend zijn ze allemaal weer op de weegschaal geweest en het gemiddelde gewicht is nu ongeveer 1100 gram. Dus zo'n 200 gram aangekomen ten opzichte van vorige week.
Sinds gisteren krijgen ze ook vlees, dat vonden ze het zelfs bij elkaar uit de bek probeerden te pikken. En toen er vanochtend alleen brokken voorgeschoteld werd, werd er lang niet met zoveel enthousiasme gegeten als vanmiddag toen er wel weer vlees door heen zat. Ze weten dus al precies wat ze lekker vinden.
Vanochtend hebben wat foto's gemaakt van de pups samen met Pink en Max zodat je goed kan zien hoe groot ze nu zijn. Als je ze alleen zie, lijkt het al heel wat, maar naast de volwassen honden zijn het nog kleine frummeltjes.
Max wou liever spelen met zijn kids in plaats van poseren, hier onder nog een paar foto's die de website niet gehaald hebben :-)


De pups are exactly 5 weeks old today. We weighed them again this morning and they've all gained about 200 grams (6.7 oz) since last week, their avarage weighed now is 1100 grams (2.4 lbs).
They had meat for the first time yesterday, and they loved it so much they tried to steal it out of eachothers mouths. This morning I only served them some kibble, they were definately not amused and were looking for the meat. This afternoon I did serve them some and they were much happier.
We took some familyphoto's this mornig with the pups and Pink and Max. So you can see how big they are now. By themselves they look like a real dog already, but next to a mature dog they are still tiny.
Max rather played with his kids instead of posing. Here are some pics they were not on the website.

Nog meer puppy bezoek / More puppy visitors

Vandaag kwam er voor ons wel heel speciaal bezoek, want vandaag kwam de familie Gelevert samen met hun hondje Monti "ons hondje Monti" :-) Want Monti is Bashful Monti of the Hunters Pride, Pinkies zoon uit haar eerste nestje, het broertje van de in de eerdere posts genoemde Forrie. Het was erg leuk om de hele familie weer eens te zien en uiteraard was het geweldig om Monti weer terug te zien na bijna twee jaar! Uitgebreid zijn de dames puppies, en ook de heren puppies maar vooral de dames, bekeken want over een paar weken krijgt Monti er een zusje bij! In dit geval dus nog een "echt" zusje ook !

We had some very special visitors today, because today the Gelevert family visited us together with their doggie Monti "our doggie Monti" :-). Because Monti is Bashful Monti of the Hunters Pride, Pinkies son from her first litter, so the full brother of Forrie who we mentioned in one of our earlier posts. It was nice to see the whole family again and of course it was wonderful to see Monti back after nearly two years. Of course much time was spent with the puppy girls, the puppy boys too, but especially the girls, because in a few weeks time Monti will get a sister! In this case a "real" sister too !

Een nieuw appartementje / A new condo

Vandaag zijn de puppen dan eindelijk "verhuisd". Ze hebben een nieuw onderkomen gekregen. Eigenlijk was dit midden vorige week al de bedoeling maar toen bleken ze nog iets te klein want ze konden hun hoofdjes nog door de spijlen steken. Inmiddels wegen ze met 4 weken oud zo'n 880 gram gemiddeld en passen de hoofdjes niet meer tussen de spijlen en dat is een stuk veiliger!
Ze vinden hun nieuwe onderkomen geweldig en rennen van hot naar her. Ook de nieuwe tunnel is een groot succes. De toiletten zijn wat verplaatst maar met wat hulp wisten ze die ook snel weer te vinden. Het gaat dus weer uitstekend hier.

The pups finally "moved" today. The have found a new condo :-). I was actually thinking to move them in there last week, however we found out they were still a bit too small because the were able to stick their heads in between the bars of the x-pen. They are now 4 weeks old and they have an approximate weight of 880 grams (1.94 lbs) so their heads can no longer get stuck between the bars of the x-pen, and that is a lot safer :-) They really enjoy their new place, they are running around in it most of the time. The new is tunnel is a big success. The puppy-toilets have been moved, but with a little help they were able to find them too. So everything is going very well here.

4 weken / 4 weeks

De pups zijn vandaag precies vier weken oud. Vandaag zullen ze voor de tweede keer ontwormd worden, we zijn benieuwd of dit net zo makkelijk zal gaan als 2 weken geleden! De mannetjes kregen vandaag ook weer bezoek. Dit keer van Ans en Wim die helemaal uit Noord-Holland hier naar toe zijn gekomen.  De pups zijn weer ontzettend verwend met al dat geknuffel! The pups are exactly 4 weeks old today. They will dewormed again today, we hope it will be as easy as it was 2 weeks ago! Special visit for the boys today too, Ans and Wim came all the way from the province of Noord-Holland to see the pups. They were spoiled again with hugs and kisses. Big Brother Is Watching You !

Vandaag waren mijn ouders en hun hondje Forrie hier. Forrie is de zoon van Pink uit haar vorige en tevens eerste nestje, hij is nu bijna twee jaar oud. Natuulijk had hij al een paar keer meegekeken over het randje van de puppykist naar de pups maar tot dusver waren ze nog te klein om echt mee contact te maken. Vandaag was dat duidelijk anders. De pups zijn morgen alweer 4 weken en zich al zeer bewust van hun omgeving en dus ook van "Big Brother" Forrie die zijn hoofd in de puppykist stak. Hij had meteen veel succes bij de pups die allemaal een kijkje bij hem kwamen nemen, en Forrie vond het steeds leuker. En maar likken en met de neus duwen tegen de pups om ze een beetje uit te dagen. De pups en Forrie vonden het geweldig. 

My parents and their dog Forrie came to visit us today. Forrie is Pinkie's son from her previous and first litter, he is almost two years old now. Of course he'd seen the pups a couple of times before on previous visits, however it was not really possible to connect with them at that point, but this time it was different. The pups will be 4 weeks tomorrow and are starting to get really aware of their surroundings and therefor also of big brother Forrie who put his head in the puppy crate. He was big hit with the pups who all came to take a look who was visiting them, and Forrie loved it. Licking and kissing and pushing with his nose to dare the puppies. The pups and Forrie had so much fun.

Toen werd hij wat overmoedig en ging in de kist zitten zich niet realiserend dat er dan natuurlijk druk gezocht zou worden naar tepels.... die niet gevonden zouden worden maar misschien wel andere onderdelen dus hij wist niet hoe gauw hij er weer uit moest komen hahaha. Toch maar weer even het randje de boel bekijken dat is veiliger. Of als ze bij zijn vrouwtje op schoot zitten, dan zijn ze ook onzettend leuk.

Than he got a little too brave and climbed into the crate not realizing that now they will start to look for some nipples... they didn't find any, but maybe they did find some other parts so he made sure he was out of that crate in no time LOL. Better look for the side, that is much safer! Or while they are sitting on his mommy's lap. 

pups update

Met de pups gaat alles goed, ze groeien goed en zijn inmiddels goed gewend aan de pap en sinds vandaag ook aan de brokjes (geweekt in water uiteraard), het gaat er in als zoete koek wat je aan de omvang van sommige buikjes ook duidelijk kan zien :-) Ze zijn lekker actief en spelen al veel met z'n allen. De komende week zullen ze nog lekker veel gekroeld en geknuffeld worden want ook deze week staat in het teken van puppybezoeken. Hier zijn nog wat foto'tjes die ik deze week gemaakt heb. 

The pups are doing very well, they are growing up fast and are used to corn gruel now and today we started with kibble (mixed with water of course), they love it, and you can definitely tell that by looking at the size of some of those bellies :-)! They are very active and love to play with each other. The coming week will be another busy one with lot's of visitors who will come to hug and kiss the pups. Here are some picture I took this week.

Een van onze vrienden in de US was jarig en vroeg een pup van ons voor haar verjaardag, als grapje had ik de pup een grote strik omgedaan en de foto verstuurd naar haar als haar "verjaardagspup".  / One of our friends in the US had her birthday and she asked a for a puppy from us for her birthday, so for a joke I gave this pup a bow around her little belly and sent it to her as her "birthday puppy"

Vandaag stonden er twee puppybezoeken op het programma. Allereerst kwam de familie Pax een kijkje nemen bij de puppen. De puppen zijn heerlijk gekroeld en ondanks hun nog jonge leeftijd kan je nu al zien dat ze genieten van al die aandacht die ze krijgen. De kids hadden al aardig onder de knie hoe je een pupje goed kan kroelen.  

Daarna kwamen Maria en haar man Jean-Yves helemaal uit Frankrijk op bezoek bij ons om de dames te bekijken want een daarvan wordt een toekomstig huisgenootje van hun. Het blijft grappig, Maria is Pools, Jean-Yves is Frans, wij zijn Nederlands en we praten... juist Engels tegen elkaar :-) Maar dat ging prima, we hebben lekker kunnen kletsen en uiteraard hebben ze de puppen uitgebreid kunnen bewonderen. Zelfs Pink kwam er nog even bij liggen in het mandje :-)

Two families came to visit the pups today. First the Pax family. The pups have been hugged and kissed a lot during their visit and despite the young age of the pups you can definitely already tell they are enjoying all the attention. The kids already had a good feeling as to how to cuddle the pups. 

After that Maria and her husband Jean-Yves came to visit us all the way from France to see the girls. I still think it is funny, Maria is Polish, Jean-Yves is French, we are Dutch but we speak.... right English together :-). But that went great, because we all speak it it very well, we took the time to chit chat and of course they were able to see and cuddle the puppies. Even Pink joined them on the couch in a tiny puppy bed at one point :-

Visite / Visitors

Vandaag is de eerste visite geweest, Sabine kwam als afgevaardigde van haar gezin helemaal uit Enschede (de wereld is een stuk kleiner via het internet maar in het echt is het toch wel ver!) om voor het eerst de pups en dan met name voor haar de mannetjes te bekijken.
Pink hield een oogje in het zeil, maar vond het prima dat haar pups uitvoerig geknuffeld werden.

We had our first puppy visit today. Sabine came all the way from Enschede (the world is so much smaller on the WWW, but in real life the distance between our two towns is rather big!) as the representative of her family to come see the pups and more specifically the boys.
Pink checked on us every now and than, but she didn't mind us overloading the puppies with hugs.

3 weken / 3 weeks

Vandaag zijn ze alweer drie weken oud! Vandaag zijn ze ook weer op de weegschaal geweest en hun gemiddelde gewicht is nu 700 gram. Allemaal prima opgewicht dus.
Er gaat een hoop veranderen deze week voor de pups. Zo zullen ze voor het eerst kennis gaan maken met puppy voer, al hebben sommigen al een keer geprobeerd mee te snoepen uit de bak van hun moeder!! Deze week zal ook de puppy bak verwisseld worden voor een puppy ren. Zodat ze wat meer ruimte hebben om zich te kunnen bewegen en te spelen. Kortom een week vol nieuwe ervaringen en indrukken voor deze kleine pups!

The pups are already 3 weeks old today! We weighed them again this morning and their average weight now is 700 grams (1.5 lbs). They are all growing very well.
A lot is going to change this week for the pups. They will be introduced for the first time to puppy food, although some of them already had a bite out of the kibble in mommy's bowl!! We will also switch the puppy crate for a puppy pen, so they will have more space to move around and play. In short a week full of new experiences and impressions for these tiny pups!

Update

Even een kleine update van de Hunters Pridejes. Met de pups gaat alles goed, ze groeien als kool. Het zijn nu "echte hondjes" geworden, ze proberen te blaffen naar elkaar en elkaar uit te dagen.

Pink liet ons wel even schrikken, want zij liep dit weekend een lichte darminfectie op. Haar weerstand is natuurlijk iets verminderd omdat ze alle zorg geeft aan de puppen nu. Gelukkig is ze na een bezoekje aan de dierenarts weer helemaal de oude. Maar het is nog wel even oppassen geblazen natuurlijk! Gelukkig hebben de pups en de andere honden nergens last van.

Het is vandaag weer prachtig weer en ma en pa lagen zo lekker te zonnen dat ik het niet kon laten er even een pup tussen te zetten. Is het geen schattig gezicht? Mama Pink en Papa Max verzorgen hun jongste dochter.

Time for an update from the Hunters Pride dogs. The pups are doing extremely well, they are growing up so fast! The are starting to act like "real dogs" now, they try to bark at each other and tease on another.

Pink gave us a bit of a scare because she caught a light bowel infection. Because she gives all her energy to the pups, she is more likely to catch these kind of infections. Fortunately we could take her to the vet right away and she is totally fine now. But of course we have to be extra careful. The pups are all fine and so are the other dogs.

The weather is gorgeous today! Mom and Dad were sunbathing outside and I could not resist to place a little puppy in between them. Isn't this adorable? Mommy Pink and Daddy Max taking care of their youngest daughter.
